My brain is weird and dumb

So one of the things that I consider a little annoying about myself is that I cannot drop something… ever. I must see it through the end, no matter, no matter how I feel.

Some say this is an admirable trait and while i would agree with you, it’s been making my hobbies feel a bit dry.

I’m inefficient with my usage of time too, which further adds insult to injury.

This is a very “first world issue”, yes. Normally I think schedule would help, but that only feeds into the dune Kruger effect…. Wait, who tf was dune kruger anyways??? Sounds like döner burger, more like.

So anyways, don’t eat hot food, bad for your teeth! I’m dying over here!

It’s quite bizarre when I open up crunchyroll and it says “kickstart your anime journey right here!!”

Like… what does it really feel to watch anime for the first time? I genuinely I wanna know. My number of watched animes are within the 5 digits already and I’ve been watching since I was 4 (starting with Digimon) so I cannot quite fathom what it’s like to “watch it for the first time”, it’d be like asking me to listen to music for the first time, or play games for the first time. The memory is so far back within my conscience that I cannot reasonably recall what that was like. Can you remember eating for the first time?

Yeah, exactly.

I mean, yes. I can remember what it was like to watch anime for the first time. Though, I was five, and didn't know that it wasn't meant to be different from the other cartoons. I did realize that later, sure, but only because it wasn't episodic, which made it better than the other shows I was able to get in my isolated town.

If you mean knowing that it's anime...well, "refreshing" was the best way to describe it. TV that was actually interesting. Kid stuff wasn't interesting for the same reason it wasn't as good as anime as a kid, adult stuff wasn't interesting because they don't try to appeal to non-adults, teenager stuff was...unfunny and alienating, mostly. It was a unique place where you get see what you wanted without being confined in a demographic.

This was more reflected in my manga list than anime list, though. Most of the anime I watched was what my friends watched. My old manga list runs the entire gamut, having things like Ane Doki, Suicide Island, Hohzuki Island, things that I wouldn't expect to get elsewhere.
I feel like I drop like 70-80% of what I start these days. Maybe that's because I've been trying to get through some fairly long shows/series?
Me thinks that’s pretty admirable. I’m too committed.
