Hello people hello. Its time for the weekly Destiny yap session on live television. A few of you read my post last week and I actually had a lot to talk about. This week... We got news on the Charmer deck I guess.
Speaking of Charmer, I'm gonna start off the article every week by doing a little card highlight like last week, and this week its a forum member with his favourite card:
@Nebulon_Galaxy and Alchemic Magician!
Speaking of Charmer, I'm gonna start off the article every week by doing a little card highlight like last week, and this week its a forum member with his favourite card:
@Nebulon_Galaxy and Alchemic Magician!
I asked Nebulon some questions about his favourite card. Wow, this almost feels like a professional article. Here's the UNEDITED completely RAW interview we did:
DD: Why?
Nebulon: When Return of the Duelist came out in 2012. The card was released in super rare and i fell in love with her detailed design. The colors glow really well with super rare which emphasize her hair which already looks incredible. I added to my Charmer decks cause it matches the theme of spellcasters and her effect although isn't as good helps with charmers back in 2012. I still have her in my extra deck since.
DD: Wow an actual answer, alright question number 2: what the hell is she making in that potion bottle?
Nebulon: Considering she and her other counterpart Slacker magician are part of a story set. I expect it can't go well with her. The subtle messy look she has makes her super cute tho!
DD: Alright final question, why do you think Alchemic Magician and Akashic Magician were fighting in the art for Staring Contest which inevitably led to Slacker Magician kicking them out of her house in the art of Get Out?
Nebulon: More likely rivals. They probably need slacker magicians help since she is the most knowledgeable of the bunch. She is probably one of those types who knows what shes doing but is too lazy to get actual work done. Sounds like destiny
DD: Okay enough

The cards mentioned in bold above.
That was cool, right? Thanks to our community member Neb for joining us today in spirit. Let his soul rest in peace now. IF YOU want to be featured with YOUR favourite card shoot me a PM and we can talk about it! Anyway, back to news. Yeah the Charmer Chronicle Deck got more news with more awesome reprints I mean what do you want me to say? Horus cards getting reprinted is incredible as well as Dark Ruler No More but that's really all the news I can think of that was actually worthwhile this week. The Charmers got new alt arts and you can see them all, as well as a list of all reprints on this link:
ygorganization.com
Personally I think they lost a lot of soul with this new alt arts, I loved the old art it kinda reminded me of that old era of the internet where we used airbrush to shade and colour everything cause... I don't even know why we did that back in the day to be honest.
Here's an example if you're too lazy to click on the link. I mean I guess saying lost some soul is a bit of a stretch, the art looks incredible and vibrant and Gigobyte is adorable in Eria's art but he's always been adorable. I guess I'm a little biased since it really does just kind of look like generic blue hair anime girl with staff. I mean... Yeah that's kind of what the original looks like too, doesn't it?
I think its down to the artstyle itself for me, maybe its just blind nostalgia or personal preference but I love that old style art that they used to have.
WHATEVER! Who cares anyway, no one's forcing us to play the new alt arts anyway. And it sure is better than what they did with Branded where they literally just took the screencaps from the anime and put them on cards. Except for the Thrust reprint and the Fusion Deployment reprint alt arts. Those were fire as fuck. I have no doubt we'll be seeing some awesome reprints of staples in this deck as well with new alt arts, hey maybe even Dark Ruler No More will have an alt art of the Charmers doing... something? Seriously this is the most random archetype to make an anime out of, does anyone even know their lore? DO THEY EVEN REALLY HAVE LORE?
What? Anime? What? Yeah, for those of you not in the loop with the recent happenings of Yu-Gi-Oh we've been getting these animated shorts on YouTube where they animate the lore of the cards themselves. We got part 1 of the Branded lore, a 6 episode short and some of the Sky Striker stuff as well. I say part 1 for Branded, I'm not sure if that's confirmed but we literally just got to the Springans and they were like yeah that's a wrap guys everyone go home. There's way too much Branded lore to just end on that, you could probably make like a 5 book series off the Branded stuff alone. But what I want to see is Duel Terminal animated. Now that one is gonna be difficult since there is years on top of years of lore. If you're interested you can check Yugipedia's article on the Master Guide but that doesn't even begin to scratch the lore properly and that page is HUGE.
Look, I just want to see Genex Controller animated. Is that too much?
ANYWAYYYYYY... MASTER DUEL NEWS! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Yeah we've got Duelist Cup back. They seriously need to rework this event man its one of the worst things in Master Duel. Why can't N/R be a regular thing like Duelist Cup? Oh right, cause N/R doesn't make them any money. Not like Duelist Cup does, its essentially just Ranked Mode 2. Except its way worse than ranked. This whole event has been horrible since the start and they just won't do shit about it. I guess more excitedly, for better or worse... Dracotail is in the game! Will this change anything? Probably. I mean, MD players are somehow playing Voiceless Voice well into Maliss format so yeah... I guess put enough Mitsu cards into anything and it'll be okay.
If you want to take a look at the DLv. MAX decks that people have been playing you can take a look at them here:
www.masterduelmeta.com
Lots of Fiendslop... still somehow... Lots of Dracotail, Artmage, some Mitsu, some Lunalights and so on. Its kind of expected to see these decks at the top. Especially since 2 of them just came out in the new selection pack like I said.
Maliss is STILL a problem and still one of the top decks in the format which is a big worry even with going into seemingly a new format with Dracotail and Artmage. Master Duel players just won't ever let it go... We suffered Snake-Eyes for what felt like 10 centuries I'm sure people won't wanna decraft their Maliss URs for another 5 formats. BUT Dkayde's last Meta Weekly tournament saw Maliss get number 1 and number 3 spot, with Odion actually getting second place! That's honestly awesome. Then in fourth and fifth place it was Dracotail, one of them utilising the Magistus cards and the other going with a small Branded package. Its kind of hard to gauge the "top contender" for Master Duel since there's no official tournament and Duelist Cup is like I said just another Ranked Mode where you can realistically climb to DLv. MAX with just about anything competent so all we have to go off of is these community tournaments.

Let's not sleep on Odion. This deck is crazy good. I experimented with it a few months back and saw great success. I love control decks and this is honestly one of the few trap decks that are really fun and rewarding to play.
More great news: This deck is relatively cheap in Master Duel. It JUST got added alongside Dracotail and Artmage in the new selection pack and I'm quite shocked in took this fucking long but I really shouldn't be, should I?
It mostly consists of SRs and most players have a lot to spare, I personally have a couple hundred just sitting there so I honestly might try to build it in Master Duel.
Here's a list from the Duelist Cup piloted by tuzzio:
Odion Deck from tuzzio | Master Duel Meta
Submitted December 12th, 2025 • Duelist Cup DLv. Max
Odion Deck from Fictinium | Master Duel Meta
Submitted December 8th, 2025 • Tournament: Meta Weekly (2nd Place)
Besides the Meta Weekly, this deck has been crushing it in the other community tournaments easily making it to top 8.
ANYWAY AGAIN! Its time for the promise I made last week before I go and wrap it up for this week: The R.B. Deck! Now, its kind of a growing joke that R.B. stands for "Really Bad" but I have to disagree. This deck is an absolute power house and doesn't mind going first or second at all. It has tons of layered and fun interaction as well as a lot of neat little going second options like Pile Bunker and the Machina cards. It makes links REALLY easily and there's a lot of different lists floating around but this is just my personal favourite running a relatively large Machina engine. Well, large considering what other people are playing I guess. Anyway, without furterado, here's R.B. Machina:
Anyway, here's what the deck can do:
Summon out your Brute Blues using any method you can, the easiest is going for your R.B. Stage Landing. After this activate Brute Blues to add R.B. Funk Dock, the field spell. Use Funk Dock to add another Stage Landing, or your first depending on how you got Brute Blues out, use Stage Landing, that's right baby NOT ONCE PER TURN on an absolutely ridicilous card. Stage Landing will summon your R.B. Lambda Blade, Lambda Blade to dump any level 4 or lower R.B., usually your Cutter. Now at this point I imagine you have OTHER cards in your hand, you just need one more to go into Valcan Booster using your Brute Blues and any other R.B. or card that ISN'T blade. Valcan Booster to add the R.B. Stage Landing. Stage Landing will get you your Cutter back on the board, then it'll bounce Cutter, and summon Cutter again onto the field. This will trigger the Funk Dock to summon an R.B. from deck since an R.B. left the field by effect. Keep in mind, this only works ON YOUR OWN TURN. Don't cheat guys. Then you can go for Shepherd's Crook using the new card and the Booster. Crook will set the Counter Trap R.B. Next Phase and you will end. WHAT YOU END ON: Your Lambda Blade is a snatch steal, your Cutter is a generic negate and your Next Phase is a monster negate. Obviously this is the simplest end, a lot of the time you end on stuff like Machina Citadel and Regulus to boost all of this. Its insanely easy to end on those. Also, its worth mentioning that all the R.B. Ga10 cards can special summon themselves if you control no monsters, or all monsters you control are R.B. monsters. A card also worth talking about is the Pile Bunker. Its a board wipe and allows for your Brute Blues to go in for game and genuinely has won me multiple games. So yes this deck has no issues going second and it has no issues winning the game on the follow-up.
What I would maybe personally replace here is the Scrap Recycler for Division and honestly, you could PROBABLY get away with running Cyber Dragon Nova and Infinity since you have level 5s but those legit never came up. Like at all. Hence the Liebe. Also, obviously the hand traps are your choice. Personally I'd do Ash and Imperm going first and then going second I would swap Imperm for Fuwa but it really isn't that big of a deal you can play just about whatever your preference is. Plus these cards are super cheap now so it shouldn't be an issue playing genuienly just whatever hand trap your heart chooses. Also, big shoutout to Solemn Strike as I do run it in this deck as my going first choice card as well as a Solemn Judgement. Yes that makes the deck out to be 42 cards but its honestly really worthwhile in the long run. Other great choices for this deck's side is board breakers. Any will do.
Some of the OTHER options.
Well before I leave you, I'll drop the card list in text format:
I really love R.B.'s theme of these giant robots that equip themselves with weapons and tools and then duke it out. Its super fun and unique and for a link strategy and I wish we got Power Tool Dragon support. Wow... Is that really all this is? Just filling the void...? Nah, I'd still be playing this even if they gave us Power Tool support. That's all for this week folks. Hope you had fun reading and thanks for reading if you did. SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!
