Comes from the wii era. Wii games are the highest price was 49.99 MSRP in the US. Nintendo also made the select titles which are priced at 19.99-29.99 MSRP in the US. Thats what people were getting at when they said Nintendo was family oriented. Idk why they still think this way when the WiiU era and switch never had price reductions and if they did its usually games that sucked turbo ass like Mario Tennis on the WiiU or Animal Crossing Party game on the WiiU as well.
Even then Wii games were produced in such a high capacity that resell value was dropped at ridiculous prices. Endless Ocean for example was at the lowest 5.99 and Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn at its peak was 79.99 resold. Games like Fire Emblem had limited runs but it was still affordable.
