Hello people, I've scanned the forum far and wide... Mostly... And saw a specific thread hadn't been made yet! Now I know you're wondering what thread that is... Card games baby. But not just any card game, the best one of all time ever:
Yu-Gi-Oh!
Share whatever you want or whatever experience you have with Yu-Gi-Oh, I'll try and keep this thread up to date with all news relating to it although it'll mostly be links to YGOrganisation since it's the best news site for the game.
In terms of news, I can't wait for the Legendary Decks 5Ds! Genuinely haven't been this excited for a product for who knows how long. I also picked up some of the Branded Chronicle Deck but it still isn't here...
Anyway, that was obligatory "wow look when THIS thread was posted, we're on Chronicle Deck 16 now!" part of the thread. As if Konami will actually continue to make good products...
And of course in most recent news:
The new Master Duel banlist. THEY BANNED APO! FINALLY! I can't believe this card was legal for THIS long. But also equally as important, Master Duel is now the ONLY and FIRST format in the game's history to have semi limited Droll and Lockbird.
The implications of that are both good and bad, hopefully this means Maxx C will be next on the chopping block and we might be heading into an actually healthy format for once in MD.
Enough coping, like I said, share what you have in relation to Yu-Gi-Oh!

I grew up watching the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, Duel Monsters & GX in particular. I played World Championship Tournament 2004 to death on my GBA back in the day.

I mostly played the physical card game from around 2016-2020, although I've really slowed down on playing with/collecting the cards. In my day, I used to play Blue-Eyes, Amazoness, Flower Cardian, Ghostrick, Madolche & spent way too much time trying to make the Dark Scorpions a viable archetype.

Nowadays, I usually just watch the anime, having watched as far as Arc-V, and play some of the older games like Legacy of the Duelist or the Early Days Collection on Switch. I kinda can't stand Master Duel

I love how this thing JUST came out like last week and all it does is Foolish 5 guys and that's it.

Yeah? What do we achieve with this? Just summon big dudes and pray nothing happens. Cards nowadays don't just destroy spells but we've come to a point where xyz monsters can attach opponents spells as material. I really wish they gave B.E.S. something more than just main deck guys with big attack stats.
At least B.E.S. is good at spamming out bodies... mostly, so MAYBE you can go into something good with them.

I guess I've seen one with Fiendsmith in it but Fiendslop is so fucking boring and genuinely kind of just not good anymore in the current meta... There's a lot of better options now in my opinion what with Yummy and Mitsurugi kinda dominating.
I can think of a way it could work with R.B. but well... 2 wrongs don't exactly make a right as much as I love R.B. it can only go so far. At least with R.B. Boardblocker can protect Zelos or Boss on Parade long enough for you to pop it yourself with the new guy but it's just really difficult to make these guys really do anything... At most you'll be getting 2 negates with R.B. which might be enough to hopefully kill your opponent on the next turn since again, B.E.S. puts out big dudes really easily and R.B. does the same exact thing except a bit more consistently. Actually the more I talk about it the more interesting it sounds, maybe I'll try it out but I'm not holding my breath for much especially after my disappointment with Machina R.B.
I love bad archetypes.
Also, seriously, there's not a single deck up for B.E.S. on Master Duel Meta which kinda shocked me with how popular and loved B.E.S. is.

Well considering BES hasnt gotten any support besides now and 15 years ago. Its a win for me

It is a win of course, it's awesome and somewhat unexpected. It also is the first support ever (if I'm not mistaken) to release on Master Duel AND OCG at the same exact time so there's that too.
But is it wrong for a man to wish for more...?
