Should there be rules restricting AI content?

AI memes aren't a good thing (especially art). They are repetitive forms of brainrot, like the Italian animal memes, and there are also the types of videos that will mislead people into believing it's real. What saddens me is how everyone finds this content funny than actual comedy and/or work done by humans.

If only I can opt out of this content on every social media platform; however, once it exists, there's no way of going back.

Require anything AI to be tagged and let people filter it out or have a dedicated section for non commercial AI stuff. AI content may ultimately have to be on an honor system regardless if it keeps becoming more sophisticated, and transparent noncommercial use for the lulz is not the same as trying to pass off a bot's work as your own.

Well we can't really dictate people's taste and opinion, I want such content if it's allowed to be shown as transparently as possible and users are given a choice to interact or ignore it outright. I think it can be done similarly to how GH handle NSFW stuff now, but I dunno how it's gonna work in practice.

I do understand that everyone has a different taste for that sort of content over others, but from the way I see it; so long as they don't constantly drool and gloat over it, and push this content to other feeds like it's the best thing in the world, then I'm totally fine by that. I am more within my rights to distance myself from people who do overly think about AI-generated material, especially now that retro tech content creators have begun using it, I don't follow them in my footsteps.

As for how AI content is going to be hidden here, I'm not exactly sure how this will go as opposed to the NSFW channels. Whether the rules will be enforced in the same vain, time will tell.

I mean I get if there was a big sudden influx of people spamming AI art and claiming it as theirs, or even just posting it, because 99% of the AI art I have ever seen is fairly garbage anyway. You get a few decent ones, and I don't mind AI art if it's for something like character generation for a tabletop game. That's all well and fine, or using AI to color in art you drew yourself. I see no harm in something like that. But again, aside from my AI voice converter, I don't think I have seen any AI art on here. And I only use that for little story clips, not mass spamming it.

1. In one or two occasions there has been there was suspicion of AI art being posted and I guess it kinda sparked this conversation.

About that, I'll ask people not to do "AI policing" on people who are not intending to post AI art unless they got convincing proof it's AI. Yeah, it can get tricky sometimes, but I don't want people with genuine intentions feeling overly paranoid when sharing art.

2. If this website grows (which is something I want, despite my slow pace to work on that), this subject will come up, and I'd rather settle things now while this community is small than having to deal with divided views in a large scale later.

Yeah I get it but this whole AI fuss comes out of nowhere
 
I think having a plan in place is a good idea, regardless of it being an immediate problem.

Having a separate part of the forum that people can opt out of is probably best. Instead of outright banning it, having a designated space might keep people from posting generated media outside of said space.

I think it's fine for memes and fun, but having those rules in place will corral possibly problematic people into a single space that's easier to monitor.
 
Of all places, I think the Rule34 site has the best implementation for AI filtering.
They have a literal filter AI switch right below the search bar, and anything tagged AI will not be shown, period.
If that could somehow be used here, it would solve the problem, I would think.

And make it take Effect Sitewide
