there is something intangible yet almost physical about the art in square titles
at times there is a rough, undisciplined grime and grit to what square chooses to show the player (ffvii) and at times there is a pure crystalline elegance radiating through almost every pore of the project (ffxiii)
placed on these canvases are interpersonal relationships that stem from the very real places in human nature - kindness, cruelty, sadness, hate, forgiveness, envy, love - really the entire gamut of human emotion
against the backdrops of such emotive and sincere soundtracks it is hard for me not to view square's game releases as some of the strongest examples of beauty in art in games

has the art present in any video games moved you? the work of any developers that has artistically inspired you?

4283878-mother-3-game-boy-advance-front-cover.jpgMother 3 is a game that changed my life. Its story and message about humanity are some of the most beautiful and profound things I have ever seen. The ending of the game never fails to make me cry. It's such an artistic and beautiful game. I love it to death.

I write fanfiction (and apparently essays) on games, so...yeah, I suppose I'd say they inspire me. Demons Roots' writing is solely responsible for me finally getting my life back together, too. It truly is the closest that I can see to perfection.

I'm not sure if this is what you're asking, but.
