For myself, I'm sadly going to be basic as fuck and say Super Metroid. Somehow, it actually lives up to the hype.

Yeah. Game of the year isn't a great thing to ask, since I doubt most people have played enough to make a solid judgment call, and games are expensive. This is much more exciting and accommodating.

I'm not sure. The game that I REALLY got into this year was the new Pokemon Z-A surprisingly. I also did play a bit of E33 but never got around to actually beating it unforch

Dying Light 2 I guess, it's inferior to the prequel in my opinion, but I had a good fun.

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, there is always at least ONE game each year that gives me brainrot so severe it becomes part of my entire personality, and this year it was Valkyrie Profile.

Though I do want to give credit for Tales of Berseria, since it also managed to get into that brainrot territory, but specifically for the first half of the year.

Modern stuff: Balatro asdjadsjdsja legit dethroned the other two rougelikes i play the most

Overall best game: Paper Mario TTYD, was an amazing experience that i finally played and finished this year <3 legit love it soo much

Best DLC/Update: Risk of Rain 2 Alloyed collective DLC. HOLY SHIT THIS WAS GOOD !!! Gearbox youd have done it, you make me hate you less

BUT i have to give a shotout to some romhacks and modpacks i played this year :3

First Fire Emblem Vision Quest. I finally got the hype train, awesome hack, awesome story, only negative is the amount of food talk jokes lmao Other than that 10/10 hack and game in general

Fire Emblem Curse of Lagdou <33333 Cute but very dark Hack, with a new take of one of my favorite fire emblem stories and a damn good Queer representation and character arch. I said its only held a lil back because still is missing vanilla + oc support interactions and the mechanics can be divisive for some although i fucking love them, garranted crits go brrrrrrrr

SuperMariomon: ignoring the fact that i am huge alpharad fangirl, holy shit this hack was amazing. Soo much of the mario rpg magic and character is present here, the story, the dialogue, the artwork is soo top. Also is pretty funny, legit had soo many laughs while playing this, is like a weird mixture between the goofines of Mario and Luigi, the humour from the early Paper Mario and some humour from Alpharad side too but not in a promote me way, more like i recognize his kinda humour and personally i am fine with it :3 Cool hack <3

And finallt Raspberry Flavoured <3 This modpack has become my primary way of playing Minecraft now, which is awesome but also kinda sad because i know have a toxic trait of comparing every modpack to Raspberry flavoured. It really is that good. The only thing i wish is that the creator backports some feature from Create 6 (imo that would be the final thing that would make it perfect for me as i love the frog ports and would be a better inventory solution that tom simple storage imo)


Overall: Good year <3 play more games, finished more games and even though we can argue the industry is going on the shittier side recently, we have romhacks and modding to get our backs <3
