There seems to be a lot to say about Nintendo and the Switch 2 today. I won't be buying anyway but the argument of Nintendo always priced it's games to be affordable for families perplexes me. Maybe that was true but I was priced out of the 3DS and never got to experience it only clinging to my DS until the shoulder and battery light indicator busted for years until 2022. I have no idea what this idea of affordability is when Nintendo games have been the most scarce and price hiked on the resale market compared to Playstation games. I missed out on the PS3 library only getting around 6 games during it's lifespan and after buying a PS3 myself as an adult and stocking up the library both from the digital store and discs I found it more successful and less wallet crushing than my small DS library. I wonder, exactly where does the "affordability" ideology come from? The Gameboy era?

Looked from some folders of Lovestruck for the journal that I hadn't touched since the servers got shut down. Have folder of just screen shots of "For the greater good" I would find in script beause all I could see was Hot Fuzz.

It's really hard to not play the slut in Dragon Age.

I inspired a friend to play Dragon Age 2 and she also is pissed at the controls as a console player.

But I have the weekend to play DA2, I'll let my last post sit for a bit before I talk further on it with talking points I have in mind so I'll probably go very personal first but now time to run around and collect my party and maybe hit up the brothel and get poor shamed by the ma'dam and listen to the working girls and gents gossip about their clients.

Just organizing my VNs (the only reason I have the OG OLED Switch), I'm thinking I might start a mini series on top of my Dragon Age 2 retrospective to keep up the writing habit when I'm too tired to run DA2 until I get a full weekend or day off. I got my Switch organized and Otomate/Idea Factory titles are a bit too long for this but I think a trip down memory lane with Voltage Inc titles looks very much doable.

Ah so the only problem I have running Dragon Age 2 is just me adjusting to keyboard and mouse than controller and man does it suck. Will try to get a full page of my thoughts later.

I don't always let AI write me a story to read for funsies but when I do it's almost certainly gay smut and I even up rewriting it and taking it seriously.

I might post this somewhere else but I'd like to get this off my chest. I think Bioware unintentionally made a gender neutral experience or more current language their first real nonbinary experience in Dragon Age 2 (I don't count Mass Effect because it still feels like you get some gendering even if they all only call you Commander Shephard) as I really can't remember your gender being used against you in exclusive routes or choices and only flavoring text, save for Anders when you're a male expressing interest and maybe Isabella's first meeting who gives Fem Hawke a warning instead of flirting. I need to replay this game to confirm this but this really would explain why I felt indifferent in each replay (except for class as I would feel the pain of combat when not a mage) no matter my gender or flipped the rivalry or friendship meters, hell I think being a mage gets me more characterization tension. Is it a bad thing? No I would call it weak at worst as when I am given a choice at gender I want that depth or exclusivity as I'm playing with each new each time I start up a game that allows me to customize the main character/my avatar. I guess I really felt like my actions didn't matter as the Hawke-sexual tension was strong with everyone and who could really blame them when someone competent is actually doing something in this Maker forsaken city.

But it's not bad for narrative or game choice as they were under a lot of constraint and pressure from EA to ship out a follow up to Origins and ironing out all the choices your character could go and where beyond dialogue I understand just adds to the pile of what ifs I have. I understood why this wouldn't work aside from romance options in Origins as a Grey Warden you're working towards building an army for the narrative to be grander than just your character even if the story is more the journey than destination but DA2 or it's proper working title Exodus was meant to be a personal roleplay of your personal survival your choices and the consequences for the player. I still love this series and the game (except combat) and I still enjoy the banter even after I have to kill Anders in the end every single time.
