Beta and Cut Content Thread

Thread to discuss unfinished or unreleased content in games. I'll start with two that I've recently been looking into:

I'll refrain from using the spookiest one, but Mother 3 on the GBA has various unused backgrounds and sprites left in the game's files.
It's a mystery as to how this background of Claus' face would be used within the game, although I think it's safe to assume it would've been used during the final fight against him. There are other backgrounds more reminiscent of Giygas, from Mother 2.

I don't follow modern Call of Duty, but I did enjoy some of the old ones many years back. Those familiar with the series may know of Zombie Chronicles, which was a DLC for Black Ops III that remastered 8 earlier zombie maps from Black Ops I and II into the game.

It was discovered that there was a scrapped DLC 5 for Black Ops II that included the Zombie Chronicles maps in a pre-alpha build of the game. This would've fundamentally changed the maps due to the game engines between the first three Black Ops games being radically different from one another.

Glove on fight was actually initially made as a prototype for Melty Blood but then managed to receive enough interest by the community to turn into a sequel of itself
Besides Tsukihime characters, it features other characters from anime and otaku culture alike like my main girl Di Gi Charat

In Hat in Time, this is how Moustache Girl looked, I was there. She was meant to be the protagonist at first and the gameplay looked more like Wind Waker.
So glad they charged that -- that's a clear case of conflicting ideas: what's her defining feature? The item the game's named after or that huge, impossible to ignore mustache? It would have brought confusion and little else.

The current design feels purposeful and fun.
 
I always loved the concept of the Fallen Survivor from Left 4 Dead 2:

Apparently they added it back in later on?
He was glitchy in the beta build of L4D2, so the developers removed his random spawns and pre-loaded him at the start of only two campaigns. It seems they fixed him later on because he got added to L4D maps as a random spawn.
 
In Dark Souls 3, Oceiros was originally supposed to be fought while carrying the baby Ocelotte. Alongside the visible baby model, there's also cut audio meant to play during the phase change animation where Oceiros smashes the infant into the ground, killing it.
