What have you been reading/listening to? What did you think of it?

My last read was Dovey Coe by Frances O'Roark Dowell.

Pretty good! Good use of logic and effectively storytelling that was somewhat held back by its own need to appear more nebulous than it really was. Solid 4/5.

Last thing i read was a book that i don't think has been translated to other countries which was "iniciação a estética"(roughly meaning "initiation to aesthetic") by Ariano Suassuna. It was a nice book for those more uneducated or plainly dumb like me in the subject of philosophy of art and aesthetic besides knowing some basic snippets of Plato here and there.
I am really trying to go back reading fiction but it's like i'm unable to. I kinda easily get bored or overwhelmed lmao. Maybe i should start reading stuff i was obsessed with when i was younger to bring back this passion

I'm currently reading one of Asimov's works, I robot I'm almost reaching the final chapters and it's been a great read.

Well, my last read was Owell's classic 1984, which was a good book despite the boring second half.

Last Read: The Master of Go (Yasunari Kawabata), a remarkable work and my second try at japanese literature, it's a reflection about the japanese society and his habitants using the Go game as an overarching-narrative.
To Read: The Phantom of the Opera

As with most things in my life, I have quite a backlog of books. Now that I have more free time, I'm trying to finish reading How Fascism Works by Jason Stanley.

In my backlog there's also Danielewski's House of Leaves and to finally finish the last two books of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

been going back & forth between a few different books, currently really into Detransition, Baby by Torrey Peters.
iu

Heard of it but was put off mostly because the title made me think it would be detransition propaganda lol but my sisters gf lent me their copy and its been really good so far! Its fiction, a story that explores motherhood and femininity through two trans women. The writing style is chaotic (in a fun way) and relies on knowledge of trans culture to understand, really feels like a book written by a trans woman for trans women which is sooo refreshing given most books ive read about the trans experience are usually very clinical and written by cis people.
