Fallout 5

You think the Starfield reception may have scared Bethesda into making changes for FO5? Shadow-dropping the Oblivion remaster seems like an odd choice until you look at it from the angle of a company that's finally realizing its old and busted Creation Engine is no longer charming the masses with its jank like it used to.

Probably! I only played about an hour before I got bored, the whole thing felt like old hat. (Also "NASApunk" or whatever they wound up calling that art style was pretty charmless).

All that candid internal info that Microsoft dropped at trial while buying Activision makes it sound more boring than that, though; the games take too long to make, and they're still at least a year or more off from releasing Elder Scrolls 6, before they'll even shift focus to Fallout.

No doubt someone at the company has yelled "We gotta get this out there, look how popular the TV show is", but with all the layoffs happening throughout Microsoft and tech in general, they probably can't/won't hire more and expand to work on more projects.

I still need to play Tactics. I loved 1 and 2 so much, they're probably my favorite CRPG's of the era.
I really need to give them another go.
Tried them a hundred years ago and found them way too cumbersome, but I've since gotten way more into CRPGs in general.

Like most my age I was introduced to the series with FO3 which I liked back then because I was a big Bethesda fan. Didn't play through New Vegas for real until like two years ago, and even then it was with a bunch of mods, but that game was awesome. FO4 is one of the most stressful video games I've played and I didn't like it at all.

Unironically I think I like the TV series the most out of all the Fallout media I've experienced, but I really loved that show!
