This is Hundred Line Last Defense Academy, it’s a fantastic SRPG/VN hybrid with tons of content and an easy achievement set.

That’s good!

But it’s 200 hours long.

That’s bad.

But it’s god a ton of rich content, alternate routes, and so much much.

That’s good!

But none of it is optional.

That’s bad.

But it’s got rich SRPG combat.

That’s good!

But it gets shallow fast and you get easily overpowered later on and you’re really underpowered for 80% of the time.

That’s bad.

But it’s easy to get strong.

That’s good!

But it takes hours of tedious grind.

That’s bad.

But it’s got a colorful cast of characters.

That’s good!

But they get really annoying in certain routes, almost like they’re different people altogether.

That’s bad.

But there’s a ton of fantastic writers onboard.

That’s good!

But that’s exactly the source of inconsistent quality throughout alternate story routes.

That’s bad.

But it’s got rich story themes.

That’s good!

Unfortunately, the game handles them really basically and it’s not super stimulating even when you reach fantastic twists and it’ll probably take you 4 weeks to beat the game, and you’ll also spend two weeks between a twist setup and its payoff.

Can I go home now?
