- In platformers, when you reach the edge of a platform and the character reacts like they're just barely keeping balance.
- In Gears of War, when you don't successfully pull off a perfect reload and your gun jams, they added a few different frustrated quips your character will voice ocassionally.
- Lengthy idle animations
- Any type of pause menu that doesn't just halt the screen. We're talking Battletoads music, Mickey's Wild Adventure "Paws" icon, things like that.
- Red Dead Redemption 2 having upwards of 12 different animations that could play depending on what angle you mount your horse from. In fact, I'd say RDR2 and the Metal Gear games probably contain the greatest number of examples of going the extra mile to account for player choice, of any of the games I've played.
