Queer Creator Appreciation Club

In regards of those kind of narrative games or any other media driven by narrative, I personally relate to stories that are never really visible, like being a nd queer for instance... I've never really seen any representation of a nd queer, not to mention living in a non central country/economy ever, either if this is good or bad representation. It would be perhaps an opportunity to at least finding those stories. But I wasn't really thinking about narrative games at all when I proposed.

Some more amazing stuff:

Red Trees is actually an early RPG Maker game, I guess it is possible to play it also on EasyRPG. I remember browsing the internet archive and finding it there too, but I need to recover the link.

garnet being a fusion in steven universe is a good example of this. i didn't notice until the reveal, and then i saw a few clues about it upon rewatching earlier episodes. it made the episode have something extra to it upon the first viewing, and a easter egg upon a second viewing.
I've never watched this show, unfortunately can't comment on it nor understand the ref, for context. But I get what you say for sure. It was stated before we should avoid the tiktok/ig/x/bsky/twitch/netflix/the-like oriented creator... Guess this is going to be the parameter and philosophy to guide the others while we design the things here for sure! xD

i guess i missed that part. i wasn't thinking of social media for the most part when i mentioned steven universe.
a lot of people on those sites just want views and will say and do anything for attention.
i think the internet archive has the series uploaded there; it usually has a lot of tv shows on there.
to make it short, garnet is a fusion of two magic rock beings named ruby and sapphire. the fusions work a bit like the fusion dance in dragon ball, but it's usually more of a actual dance, and it usually has more subtle meanings attached to the dances. sometimes the dance occurs between friends, sometimes it has a more romantic feel to it, and sometimes it has a sexual tension to it.
when two or more gems fuse, they become a much stronger being with their own name, like in dragon ball; and there is no time limit. compatibility does play a huge role in how fusions work and behave. one fusion ended up being a physical representation of a toxic relationship. took quite a while for it to be resolved to an extent.

I still don't get, but that's fine... not quite the best english speaker :sailor-embarrassed:
hopefully you can find the show dubbed in your language or find a subtitled version. it makes more sense when you watch the show. it would take a while to lay everything out. it's 7 seasons long and there is a movie to watch as well.

LOOOOOOOOL

Basically, life is strange pissed me off in so many ways. To a point where it became a parasite in my mind that I wanna infect onto others :]

It’s a popular game, but I only saw it popular with non lgbt ppl, whenever I showed it to my queer conscience friends they were quick to point out how much max claufield is a psychopath :smirk1:

I don’t doubt that it may have had good intentions but it has a slightly toxic portrayal of lgbt

I recently found out some rightist ppl or non lgbt ppl were bi curious but only in HS, but they treated it like a weird phase rather than letting them question their identity cuz they’re too insecure about their sexuality. Now don’t get me wrong, you can be bi curious then decide it’s not for you after trying it, but I hate this devil may care portrayal of queers, that you can’t be lgbt unless you’re already a weirdo or have a messed up life

I’m definitely reading it too deeply into it, but my point is that it’s very clumsily written, the game in 2016 actually scared me off of lgbt ppl and made me think they were crazy so it has real potential for harm.

I’m not trying to damage its reputation, it’s a mainstream game so it will have fans no matter what and I’m just one voice, my real goal is to invite discussions about it :3
Also the two main leads are both dislikable whores and I wish they die in a meat Grindr teehee 🤭 :mikublush:
I genuinely think the only reason LiS owes a lot of its long-term success to the fact that it was amongst the first Original English Language games where being gay is a genuine option that was given weight. People loved that you could date Chloe, and that she was the other main character. So it was ignored that Chloe was so egocentric that you had to do things like brush off Kate when she was suicidal and desperately reaching for her only friend, take the fall for something Chloe explicitly told you not to even be involved in, or steal the disability fund money to pay off her drug dealer. Because it wasn't Chloe you were having Max date, but one of the first big lesbians (in the west)!

I know it sounds silly now, but there wasn't really much at all in the mainstream market. You had some Bioware stuff that skirted it, and maybe one or two other things, but that was kinda it. Even playersexuality wasn't as much of a thing, yet. It was kinda really big for that.
