What inspired you to make the rule against liking Kingdom Hearts?
In 2019, I went through one of the most traumatic, haunting, ptsd-inducing experiences. Developed several phobias, had countless sleepless nights, couldn’t eat solid food for days, nearly broke several bones, went down with a fever for a month, my body felt both hot and cold simultaneously. I kept vomiting intensely, my body was rejecting any food I ate. I was depressed for several weeks, constantly tipsy, having hallucinations, uncontrollable outbursts, couldn’t speak properly for three days and was beginning to slowly lose my memories and my sense of self.

It’s because I played kingdom hearts 3.

I think that's normal for KH3, even for fans of the series. Did you play any of the good games?

...that's a fuckton of progress. Guessing you got hit with the curse of "surely it must be good at some point, with how much everyone loves it"?
Well yes it’s my favorite action rpg of all time (after dark souls 1). Replayed it countless times with many more replays still to come.

KH2FM is one of the strongest games on PS2, no doubt. The drive forms are exceptionally fun to use, and the story struck just the right level of goofiness for me to enjoy. The bosses are highlights as well. That final Xemnas set piece in particular lives rent free in my head.

And of course the music is top notch. Passion's Orchestral version, Rage Awakened, Cavern of Remembrance, I could go on and on. That said, I only have played 1, Re:Com, 2, and Days. The rest don't seem to interest me too much.

What are your thoughts on BBS? As an aside away from KH, what would you consider to be your favorite handheld system?

Now ik what the "KH" stands for.

:unsure::unsure: come to think of it, I think I have those symptoms [even to this day, since 2010] from the game MGSPW, which I have never ever finished cause I couldn't get past Beating That BITCH PEACE WALKER ! 😡

I was trying to wait till I had more energy to answer this

Unfortunately that never came. A week later and I’m still severely sleep deprived unless I see a doctor so here comes my answer (sorry I’m late)

I don’t like bbs. Explaining so can come off as geeky or stand off ish but I’d feel it would be equally insincere to try and pass it off as a “good if casual, bad if played on crit” because that doesn’t really say much imo. It doesn’t tell the whole story.

And what the hell, we’re not on a huge public forum. I have no reason to hold back. There’s only a select few reading this so I just won’t sugarcoat it.

I get it, it can seem unfair. Wah wah the big kh2 Tokyo team elitist bullying the little psp Osaka team dev game wah wah. But what are we even supposed to use as reference here?

It’s true that bbs had a smaller budget and less time but I see those as really just circumstances, not excuses. The final product is still utterly unrefined.

And I get boo hoo goo goo wah wah it’s not that floaty cmon!!! But it is, it’s super sluggish compared to kh2 and not fluid at all. Also really stiff.

But boo hoo wah wah goo goo wah wah it has a good story!!!!! Nope, nada. It’s a bad version of Star Wars, which is already bad (yeah I’m not making any friends soon).

Personally you can still have fun with the game if you grow a stockhol syndrome and be attached to its badness. That’s how I enjoy it now, through torture.

I’m being somewhat facetious if it’s not clear, sorry if the ironic commentary is a little hard to decipher, I don’t think even I understand myself sometimes but if someone asks me my opinions on BBs, I will say it’s Big Bullshit.
