Somehow ñachi, literal animal blood turned into ketchup for vampires, seems less horrifying.

I have zero idea. Even if I could find meat palatable, I wouldn't try it. Not that it really matters, since I've never encountered them in the wild.

I don't even think that's just the US. I've known a few joints local to me that do stuff like that. I think one of them used to batter and fry just about anything you brought to them.
