i learned about an interesting fact about the regular pokeball and ultra ball in the gen 1 games.
they have the same catch chance at 25%. the great ball has a 50% catch chance.
the ultra ball is only better if the enemy has a status ailment on them, and sleep is the best one to inflect on them.
