I tried my best to pick only a single favorite for each but in some cases it was just not possible.

Atari - Enduro
ZX Spectrum - Jet Pac
NES - Super Mario Bros.
GB - For the Frog the Bell Tolls
GBC - Donkey Kong Country

Wii U - Game & Wario
Switch - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Following Jayonnaise's example...
chart(4).png
Top row is Nintendo handhelds, second from the top is Nintendo TV consoles, third row is Playstation, fourth row is me forgetting Sega existed and needing to go back and add them (I think you can tell I haven't played much Sega) and the Xbox 360, fifth row is assorted consoles not important enough to have companions (PC-98, PC Engine (okay, this is important enough), Lynx, PC-Modern, Xbox Done).

Now, you might be wondering: where's the PS2 game? Surely I could remove a line bottom game. And that's a good question!

Okay. let me explain asjdjadsajsd
First row is pretty straight foward, nintendo home consoles up until switch 1 cause i dont have the switch 2
Second Row is also pretty self explanatory, nintendo handhelds.
Then we start getting a lil weird is this order:
Sega master system, Sega MegaDrive/Genesis, Saturn (yes symphony of the night saturn, i love that shit) and Dream cast. Then separation to the only two xbox consoles that i care, the og and the 360... still chose multi platforms as i am like not the biggest exclusives person. (i play mostly rom hacks and indies lmao)
Then the ps stuff... is a bit of meme/ but also true in this order: PSX,PS2,PS3,PS4,PS5,PSP and Vita. But note that both PS4,PS5 and psVita i chose games that i later played on pc lmao. I dont have a ps4,ps5 or vita and i dont care enough about their catalogs soo let me gosh about persona and tony hawk lmao.
And finally a weird list:
Independant game (non steam), Steam, Homebrew, DOS, Flash, Modern Mobile and Java games.

This list is inherently flawed of course but it was fun to look of the stuff i play the most when i think of X platform. There are of course lots of good games i had to left out, honorable mentions:
All the fire emblems, Pokemon Emerald and Black, all the SMT main series and Strange Journey, a lot of tony hawk games, Hollow knight, Vampire survivors, most Metroid and Castlevania in the MetroidVania Style, Pacman World 1, The Legend of Zelda Links awakening and A link to the past, Super Mario World and Galaxy, Puyo Puyo Tetris and Risk of Rain 1 and 2

OMG I FORGOT THE NEO GEOS, PC ENGINE, WONDERSWAN AND THE ARCADES I AM A TERRIBLE PERSON

Arcade: Ms PacMan
NeoGeo:Metal Slug X
NeoGeoPocket: Sonic Pocket Adventure
PC engine: Castlevania Rondo of Blood
WonderSwan: Tetris

Project M definitely belong somewhere on my list, though I'd label it as "Favorite hack".

You know, I was about to say I was in the same boat, but....

Like many other PS2 games I played this one is likely not gonna leave my childhood, but I played this one so much that it deserves a spot.

If we're to talk about something I'd play today: I'd love to play Dead or Alive 2 on my CRT more, it looks fantastic and runs at smooth 60 fps, but I never got the opportunity to play it with someone locally.

It's hard, isn't it? Hit and Run is good, but the sheer amount of diverse games to choose from makes it really hard.

It's funny how the game lets you skip missions after a few failures except the last 3 ones, which I remember being very hard as a kid. In fact, I could never beat the final mission.

I have to touch this game again sometime, even if it's just for the sake of nostalgia.

Flash Games - Meet n Fuck Kingdom
I see you're also an individual of taste.

I have to make a correction on my list. I tried to keep it contemporary, but Bonanza Bros isn't a Genesis game, it's an arcade one. And favorite arcade game is not a beast I'm going to tackle.

I didn't met this game on genesis, I met it here (and it's much more faithful to the arcade one):

There I had a good time with other games such as Fantasy Zone and Puzzle & Action: Tant-R, but choosing a collection feels like cheating, so I'm picking it for Bonanza Bros alone. Now that is a game I boot on my PS2 to this day

That leaves a spot open for favorite Genesis game. Uh... maybe Sonic 1 or 3?

I mean, it is on the Mega Drive. Can't speak to how well realized it is, since the MD couldn't exactly handle some arcade ports nearly as well as the original machines (looking at you, Altered Beast), but it is there.

Well it's the same game tbh, and I wouldn't mind palying it on a Mega Drive, it's just that the limitations don't do it enough justice to the round look the game. And the sound.

In fact, I'm looking at this video now, and the PS2 version seems to be the fully realized vision of that game:

The arcade version gets pretty close, but now that I enabled audio, the instruments are piercing through my ear 😅
