yellows are alright in the first game. average attack and speed. they get extra height by being lighter, and can carry bomb rocks, which help clear out one time walls scattered about each area. you only ever need 15 to get through the game. they get much in the sequels, gaining immunity to lightning hazards and enemy alongside increased digging speed. overall, they are alright. you'll need some, but never more than 100.
i think blue is probably of the most useful types of pikmin to use in the games. they can pass through water without problem, letting them get shortcuts for transportation. i usually have a lot of them when i play through the games because of that. i had over a couple of thousands on one playthrough of pikmin 2 because of the time saving paths they can traverse. average in attack and speed, but more versatile over yellows.
the absolute strongest of them all. 10x attack, 10x the carrying strength and the ability to stun enemies by landing nearby. you should always have at least 20 on hand for clearing out paths and carrying treasure and defeated enemies back to the landing site while you work on other tasks. this overpoweredness is balanced out by being the slowest type in the game. even the ones with flowers on their head are slow, and they are susceptible to all hazards. burnable, easily shockable, doesn't mix well with water or poisonous obstacles. still worthy of looking out for and having a decent chunk of your army comprised of them in nearly any case.
the swiftest of all pikmin types, and second weakest; [wing pikmin are the weakest, strength wise]. they have the best carrying speed and their crimson colored eyes give them x-ray sight. they can see objects buried underground. they are also immune to poison attacks and hazards. enemies can also be damaged by them by eating them, but that should be saved as a last resort when going exploring. white and purple pikmin only have onions in the 4th game and a difficult set of trails must be cleared to obtain them. until then, they can only be obtained in batches of 5 from their corresponding colored candypop buds. white pikmin are excellent companions for exploring and retrieving treasure and ship parts. other hazards still pose a threat to them, so do be careful with them.
considered to be the second strongest, tied with red pikmin and just behind purple pikmin. average speed and carrying capacity. their true strength shines through in combat and glass wall breaking. they can't be crushed by enemy attacks, and deal extra damage when thrown. the downside, they mostly attack by using tackle. it is a slower attack and doesn't have the extra attack power, but they can be safely left with enemies that use crushing attacks and deal with them on their own while you keep a look out for other threats. their always reliable and come with an onion, so more rock solid units can join your army. always keep a couple of dozen with you while out and about.
the most useful type when it comes to exploration and transportation. their wings allow them to bypass nearly every type of terrain and take the quickest path back to the landing site. the downside is that they are the weakest in combat. a dose of ultra spicy spray can alleviate that but it is temporary. they can also fly up to flying enemies and immediately engage in combat without problem. most flying enemies are very weak, with next to no real options for hurting your pikmin. perfect for your winged buddies to defeat in 5 seconds or less and then you can exploring the wonderful and terrifying world of PNF-404.
one of the newest types discovered, ice pikmin are immensely helpful in all aspects of life on PNF-404. Cold enough to freeze water to create solid ice for pikmin transportation and to even freeze enemies during combat, and chill your soda, tea or water on a hot summer day. they unfortunately are very vulnerable to fire, and they are only immune to cold hazards and environments. good attack, speed and carry stats. they'll quickly become one of your favorite types of pikmin.
the final type known so far, glow pikmin are a strange bunch. they are seemingly living ghosts or souls of some kind. immune to all hazards, yet can still be eaten by enemies; raising a lot of questions in the process. they float, so water environments and other field types are of no threat. they can instant transmission to the players side if left idle once a task is complete, and can combine to form a spirit bomb to damage and stun nearby enemies. they have no onion, instead seeming to inhabit strange structures called Lumiknolls. they also go through the growth stages of regular pikmin on their own, without needed to be left in the ground or being given nectar to bloom into flower pikmin. they can only exist at night or in dark laces like caves, further adding to the mystery if they are ghosts or not.
and now, for some spicy pics of my characters Honey and Pepper, hanging out with Pi from the dot hack games.
small warning; these drawings have vampy action in them, so you cab skip over these if that's not your cup of tea as the saying goes.
Biased towards viridian cuz gen 1 is my most played gen of Pokémon (although I’ve recently begun to sink in an equal amount of hours into gens 3 and 4!)

i played a lot of gen 1 as well. i tried to beat yellow version, but i think my cartridge was defective, since the save file would randomly disappear. got up to the elite 4, save the game. next boot up, new game and options are there, continue was gone.
the ghost pikmin are insanely powerful. they float, so their speed is higher. they teleport to your side after finishing a task. they can combine into a spirit bomb to stun and damage enemies. they are very broken in combat and exploration. the only downside is that they can only be used at night and in caves. they disappear during the day.
just one upload for this post. i'll be working on a few halloween themed drawings for some later posts.
this character was inspired by helen from the Incredibles.
it's been a while since the last upload. just got a couple of normal drawings this time. slowly working on some other drawings. been playing soul calibur 3 and ff3 the past few days.
