How to get new people?

Anyhoos, moving along, I’ll try to get you acquainted with my modder friend. I dunno if he’d enjoy using XenForo, but I think he’s willing to give it a try.
He seems like a cool person!

I tried to get a few friends of mine from other places but their either haven't registered or haven't stuck around 😔

Still working on the neocities idea, I'm going forward with that thing

There’s a chance you could advertise your place as a community for creators if you’re part of any group for modders and hackers and stuff

I dunno, I just came because people here were weary bout another discord server being made. I just wanted to talk to chill people and talk about DA and if RGT really doesn't want to talk about gender then fine, we can and should talk like adults about it but here I am adding a bit of gender politics in gaming and gearing up for round two.

We told spike to make rgt gayer but he refused cause legal treats of the trump administration/jj

Nah but seriously, Ciro just wanted to make a forum for a long time… and i mean like a long time. Of course ciro is friend with many people cause he is just a cool cute fella soo of course the forum at first is really overlapped with 9ensokyo discord server cause he made a lot of friends there.

But RGT/9ensokyo/Gaming heaven are different entities, not one trying to take over the other. In fact most of us are still on RGT u know lmao skkss. Is nice having a web forum community (cause we are boomers that love forums) that is a lil bit loose with the rules and it not tied with constant legal threats from people who were pissed off cause someone was mean to them.

Do we want that for RGT? No lmao sjjdjd but we also want a cool place to share stuff, and admittedly some of us were not happy with RGT. But that does not mean antagonizing the Site. As i said, most of us still have precious memories and friends from there, but still wanted our own space :3

Okay cheela rambling over

Tldr: Different entities, overlapping friend groups wanted a cool place to hang out without legal threat or discord bs, and ciro wanted to make a forum both things just kinda lined up lmao

I guess I feel more exposed here so I might come off as bristly or guarded I apologize. Being closeted as a gamer leads to me with ready to come off as either a jester, a dark knight, or peace keeping white mage and I don't want to lose what gamer spaces I can try to jump into without being looked down as the new kid on the forum among veterans or be see as someone trying to ruin games or steal them from nerds.

Totally understandable 🫂

The strange mentality that some unfortunate people have that LGBTQ gamers are trying to 'ruin games' or whatever I'll never understand. I'm sorry you have to be defensive about the whole thing, for what it's worth; someone talking their opinion about gender in video games shouldn't be so potentially polarizing. You're cool in my books, it's rare to find someone as weirdly obsessed with Dragon Age as I am.

Nah, I've got nefarious plans to take over all the sites with my encyclopedic Camp Blood Clown Shark knowledge :mikudab: :devilish::devilish:/j

most of us don't care if someone wants to make a game with gay people in it or have it be a main part of the story or the main character's personal arc. the appeal of fictional stories is to mix both real world and fictional things together. and video games excel at that. i was quite invested in the romance route with fuuka in rune factory 5. i picked the female character, and after learning i couldn't bang the kitsune milf, the game introduces this super cute little red head wolf girl. no idea how old she is, but i would guess 15 to 18, matching the main protag in age. not only did fu have an interesting backstory, but striking up a romance with her also reveals some lore about the beast humans in the world. as you date her, you can pick nicknames for each other, which made the scene where fu seems like she is sick hit a bit harder when my character ran into the room, asking " is honey okay? is she alright?" [i remember the dialog being like that, but its been a few years since i played the game] i would presume that both opposite and same sex romances in the game would play out similarly for both male and females. and i think the remake of harvest moon: a wonderful life added in the ability for both make and female player characters to romance both genders.
i've been playing a hack of ff4 that replaces cecil and rosa with celes and terra, and i think that they would be a cute couple. not at the part yet where you rescue terra from golbez yet. still have to get through the stupid magnet cave.
a lot of my own characters would probably be considered lesbians or bisexual; based off of how they interact with one another. and i've been asked several times to make drawings for people on deviantart about their favorite female character pairings, and those drawings have gotten a fair amount of views and favorites.
i don't have a problem with gay people being my games, shows, movies and comics. i've never met someone who does have this problem.
We DO have a problem with the talentless hacks who make stories, games, movies, shows and comics with gay, bi, trans and all of the other parts of the group and don't make anything interesting with those types of people. they can't write, they can't make believable, likeable characters. they write the good guys as weirdo creeps that force themselves and their will onto others who are minding their own business; like kate kane from the cw batwoman's show. i could write dozens of posts breaking down the utter stupidity of that show and it's writing.
they suck ass at their job; the regular people tell them to put some effort into it and they would have something good, but they call us racists, sexist, anti-gay and everything else. we want them to tell a story, and not just have a character stand there for 20, 40 minutes saying that they are gay or that they like to have sex with frying pans. if they were subtle with it, we would be fine with it, but they just make it the whole characters point of existence. that gets boring after a while. show us what the character likes, don't just tell us. "tell, don't show" is boring. "show, don't tell" is interesting.

sorry for the wall of text. this is something that i have been keeping an eye on for about a decade now. it is very clear what the problem is. everyone who has been working in the entertainment industry seems hellbent on making the average person hate gay people by making the most shittiest, terrible, boring ass stories and entertainment possible with gay, bi, trans and all of the other parts of the group the main focal point, so that when the worthless, lazy, untalented, entitled, selfish little vermin make their terrible shows, movies, and whatever else that they have their anit-midas hands on; they have the perfect meat shield to protect themselves with. "oh, you hate my movie? well, then you hate gay people!" no, we don't. we hate the writers, the directors, and producers who green light the cacophony of malodorous tripe and want to pay good money for a worthless product.

that, is the reason that why you see people saying that the LGBTQ gamers are "ruining" video games. they are a shield for these people. normal people focus on what they can see and that's where they focus their anger at: people who didn't do anything other than exist and want to live their lives in peace; and are unwilling pawns for maniacal sociopaths.

again, sorry for the large amount of text. there's so much to this topic; and i have so many observations from when i started noticing this stuff up to this point in time.

I like it here, I'm just here to hang out with cool people. Although I'm starting to realize that I'm clearly not keeping up with everything that goes on with these forums. It's not like I'm turning a blind eye or anything! I just rarely participate unless someone is being completely unreasonable towards someone else. Kinda sucks that everybody has had a different experience around these parts.
Cheers to the bright future of GH? 🍻

Cheers! I'm drinking beer right now 🍻

@MasterEn I can't fully digest your text right now (I'll do it after I wake up!), but this is an interesting subject to talk about. But to put it simply, my mindset is that if you're going to represent something, the end product gotta reflect passion and not corporatism.

yeah, lots of people can detect when something is made with passion, and when it's made for a paycheck. pretty much everyone would like to watch, play or read something made by someone who has a story to tell and share with the world rather than something made to make a quick buck and to ride on a bandwagon while it lasts. the former is interesting and the latter is boring.
